Dr. William H. Turner graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Sociology in 1968. He was among the earliest Black students to enter or graduate from the university. He returned to teach at the school, eventually being named its Vice President for Multicultural Affairs. Turner is 2007 inductee into the Kentucky Civil Rights Hall of Fame.
